I'm 14, blaine. I can seperate right from wrong, and fact from fiction. I know more than some college students. My IQ is 164, the average being 110. This is prejudice and I'm not going to stand here and take this stuff from you. If you wanna insult me, go ahead, because I hope you get banned for this, you stereotyping child-hater.

I'm not just representing myself, but everybody under your pre-set limit of 15 as well.

As I stated in my previous post here, youth are welcomed by me for participation, as long as their parents are aware of the kids media diet and what ATS is.

This is not a site made (designed) for kids. MANY themes and discussions here DO and ARE of a mature nature. Making things kid friendly DOES deny adults the full abillity to not have to be babysitting someone elses kid.

Overall, culturally, it seems more and more the "rubber padding of the universe" in the name of protecting children is getting out of hand.
PARENTS MUST BE RESPONSIBLE and stop passing the buck with a p.c. idea that everyone must suffer under more and more restrictions because they dont want THEIR kid exposed to something. Mabey other parents wouldnt have the same problem with what they think should be "kid proof".

IF the majority of members could be proven to be adults (+18) then why infring upon the adults because PARENTS arent watching what their kids digest from the media? Net's assertion starts with the ASSUMPTION that kids are here and that they need protection from certain ideas.
Isnt this the parents job?

just questioning where the true culpabillity for a minor using this site really is.

let them read what's here. there is no better library in the world than the collective knowledge of the world wide web(well, there is, but you and i ain't getting into it!). there are few places with more decorum than ATS. bloody television is WAY more profane and distorted.

Eventually age will not mean as much, but it will take a few more years for people to get rid of that prejudice.

Get used to it - that's the way most of the world works. Being too - fat, skinny, ugly, tall, short, young, old, dark, or whatever you always find some descrimination. That's also what makes the internet so great - you are what you write. You see the person first instead of the shell.

Personally - I think the poster is a kid who's a bit naive or an adult pretending to be a kid.

I agree, children should not be hanging around this place, they should be learning from their parents.

ahhhh, but thomas, wouldn't you agree that the standard of decorum here is HIGHER than the standard fair of television? kids can watch full on gettin' it on on sattelite or cable. i've heard every swear word there is on BROADCAST television. i've seen full frontal nudity, the suggestion of every sex act there is, ...i've seen HORRIBLE violence and depraved ideas, all coming unfiltered through my antenna. i've heard every swear word on the radio. i constantly hear insults from THE HOSTS of talk radio, that would get these guys banned in a heartbeat, here on ATS.
ATS is like squeaky clean compared to the rest of america/canada/britain....anyway, it's a sattelite enviroment, and the internet is a global enviroment, so compared to EVERYWHERE!

god forbid the children should be aware of what's REALLY going on in the world. i mean, you need a certain level of experience and intelligence to even WANT to be here. there are no girly pictures, or senseless violence, or anything else objectionable.

If threads are for mature readers or contain things of a graphic nature, we post warnings to state it. To be honest, there is nothing this board can really do when it comes to age restrictions. Some of our younger members, tend to be some of the most intelligent users

Yes, you make a great point Caz. Yes, we are setup to protect them but I was thinking in a broader sense of descrimination of both young & old (like me). One of the smartest people I've ever met was a kid that was 10 or 11 & had read more books then most the adults I know & quite frankly he could carry on a conversation better then most adults. Most those kind of kids get held back because of their age and I think alot of them get stunted or bored before they're allowed the reach their peak. I've seen teacher's that would actually be jealous of kids with superior abilities and would treat those kids worse and try to keep them down. I've never liked aged based rules when I was young & I still don't like now that I'm older. I would rather see rules driven by ability, but we have this stupid concept that everybody is equal and their not. Otherwise everyone could be a doctor & an NFL player.

Their parents aren't home, or they're busy, or they have other things on their mind.

Compared to a lot of other things might get into, ATS is not only sanitized and supervised, it demands a level of intelligence that's not even permitted to be displayed in schools.

the steel from the towers of 911 was sold, and buried or shipped out of the country, at prices BELOW MARKET VALUE. this made it impossible to investigate scientifically, the reason for the collapse of the towers. buildings just DON'T fall down like that, unless they are mined with explosives.
now, 'media' is the ABSOLUTE, MOST ESSENTIAL THING, that you must research. you must understand what happens when people recieve information, and then anticipate what their reactions might be.
in the old days, people got their beliefs from the christian holy bible. much of the bible is proven to be true, or to be more precise, it is strongly corroborated(that means 'backed up', or in street, 'givin props') by other texts of the same time period. the roman census, for example.

now we are controlled by what we see on television, what we read in the newspapers, and what they CHOOSE for us to read in schools.

if you want to know the truth, you will use key word searchs, you will find books about conspiracies, and you will read ATS until your eyes bleed truth. you will tell all your freinds to do the same thing, and you will discuss it in groups.

well, your name is 'NWObringer', and you have a picture of george bush with his thumb up. so, you're just not thinking enough, in my humble old man's opinion.
when i was growing up in the sixties, there was a lot more freedom for people. allen dulles and the other NWObringers from that period, the guys who killed kennedy, and then covered it up, have been slowly turning america into communist russia. it is done through mass media and financial subterfuge.

If a parent does not WANT their child on here then the PARENT needs act like a PARENT and do something about it. Most importaint, TALK to your child! If you do let him/her on this or any other web site make darn sure that they can confide and be open and TALK about what they read/saw. Guide them when they need it. Thats why they are CHILDREN. They need a bit more help in the world. Most animals in the world can get along without a parent. They are born and can walk in hours. Human babies need HELP from day one. And day one does not end. If you don't like what they are seeing, watching on tv or listening to on the radio or if you don't like it, CHANGE THE CHANEL. I cannot think of one TV or radio with only one station. I'm 15, I've been around ATS since I was 14, and think it's brilliant.
I'm at college currently, having skipped a year and I just think it's ridiculous when people are stereotypical of age. Like just the other day, I wasn't allowed a child ticket on a bus because I was getting on during school hours and my explanation of being at college was 'laughable', even when I produced I.D.

My eight year old niece has read ATSNN articles a few times, because it is a serious and excellently produced site, just like ATS.
