Should young children be on this board.

I have no problem with younger members being on ATS. I do however have a problem with being told by other members (adult) that if I am not pushing the Catholicism as a lifestyle, I am in some way misleading children. This board is full of alternative threads and directing them to read other religious options that are in no way cult related nor pornographic in nature is not in anyway akin to pedophilia or child exploitation.

How in the heck did you jump to this conclusion?

If he was, why not talk in private thru u2u instead of in public on the forum like he SAID should be done?

Is this a case of childish immaturity/inexperiance that will crop up from the mouths of these so called intelligent kids?

As i Mentioned....sometimes a kid thinks and acts like a kid....regardless of how smart they are....nothing wrong with that, but it DOES raise a "credibillity/perspective" issue that SHOULD be considered when reading posts from KIDS.

whether he was actually 'wooed' or not, there is no better place than public space to clear it up. keep anything like that in the open.
incidentally, i personally believe the issue of child abuse and pornography will be used as the excuse to put the clamps on the net, and it will be used to frame dissenters. this whole drama could be an attempted set-up by a cointel type operation, to put ATS under scrutiny.
sometimes adults here act like kids. why can't we see that maturity is not a function of age?

Abovetopsecret.com is a private company. They and only they may decide who may post. Regardless of age, race, creed, color, etc. The first ammendment does not apply here.

The rat race has gotten out of hand in regards to the child ( Here in the USA anyway ). Most parents just try to stay above water and give up something with their children in return. Mostly communication, instruction, bonding, and most importaint......Being their for the child.

I have been fortunate enough that my wife has been able to stay home with my two kids. My son just turned 15 and my daughter 10. We also have a few friends who have a stay at home mom/dad. My sister is 14 and OUT of control. The difference that I see between children with a parent always there and the children I know that are latch key is just incredible. I actually have never really thought to much about it until this thread. Even with my brother and his three kids, the difference is evident, they are obnoxious beyond belief at times and are mostly just plain rude.

Should children ( Yes you 15 year olds ARE CHILDREN ) be on ATS? Sure, but they need guidance. It amazes me that even here how most of the children who post ( most not all ) sound very mature in the initial post or one to two after. Then the kid comes out.

Its ok though, kids need to be kids.

I am also not trying to bash parents who must work. Just be there when the child needs you.

They are the worlds most precious resource.

Judgeing by your post i see you think im stupid. This is not the case (if i do say so myself) you seem to have misread my whole post. Maybe it is, or maybe you need to re-read my post and comment on it again because im sure as hell i didnt say half the stuff you accuse of.

Just goes to show that kids arent the only ones that are getting things wrong.

Seriously, BillyBob, you think this place is where you find out what's really going on?
Kids should be playing, having fun, going out in the woods and terrorizing the wildlife, etc.; they shouldn't be concerned with statements like "Bush is screwing up the whole world!" as if that is what is really going on. And even if it is, let the kids have fun and not worry about it until they have to worry. Worrying is us adults' job.

But again, we can't check ID's at the door, and the guardians should be the ones pulling the plug.
