my 10 cents

I have been wanting to say this for awhile have been looking for the right topic.
I consider myself to be a moderate in politics (a moderate liberal.)
I could never run for Office because I have to many differnt stands on differnt issues for example I support gay marriage and its is my belief that you have to risk a few civil libertys to stay safe from terrorists.

To be elected to office you have to be of right or left wing persuasion other wise you dont capture the party vote and you fail to gain the vote of moderate people like me.

Perhaps Kerry was to moderate?

If you disagree with me feel free to post in this thread. I dont want another Bush bashing thread there are plenty of other threads where you can bash Bush.

Edit spelling.

I wasnt aware Persians still exsist... let alone were allowed to run for office in the USA...

You cant run as a Dem or a Rep, but run as an independant. Your country needs more independant views.

Kerry was anything but moderate, IMO. I consider myself to be a moderate. I have leanings on both sides of the fence. Truly I think most people do, but in America it's hard to think for yourself when you're upbringing teaches you to be pretty much one way or the other. Kerry was too liberal in his politics. And, I mean extreme liberalism which makes him anything but moderate. I consider a moderate to be someone in the middle field of a Democrat/Republican. Not someone way off in left field or right field.

Moderation in all things is the key to happiness.

But the global corporate aristocracy that seeks to privately own all earth, all water, all air, all people - have good use for moderates. It's called double speak.

Iran is Persia. America is Sparta.

What if you're a liberal conservative with radicle leanings towards free-market communism?

Would that be socialist?

I'm just a mixed-up serf.
