Slums breed Jihad

In Morocco violent jihadist organisations have emerged over the past few years in shanty towns on the edges of cities, inhabited by the despised and forgotten migrants from the countryside. They are creating the conditions for a rebellion born of despair.

THE bomb blast at the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Taba last month confirmed that the cause of global jihad is no longer confined to peripheral areas such as Afghanistan, Chechnya or former Yugoslavia. It is now striking at the heart of the Arab Muslim world, with Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Morocco directly in the firing line.

I don't know if I believe this statistic, but then 1 in 30 people are incarcerated- and not all are in for 'life'

but then if you are arrested, you can't join the military???? so what do the convicts do if they can't get their fingerprint card for working at 7-11?

hmmmm looks like i'll try to get the statistics of % lifers- no need to include the death row inmates
