The most recent downtime was not related to the change-over. I'm looking at the server now after having it rebooted.

Several dozen DNS server suddenly assumed that our (current) server is the authoritative domain name server for "thenihilistcafe.org" which resulted
in a UDP flood of some type.
Very strange.
