Why is the search function on this board completely useless? I type in words or phrases from thread subjects which I know exist, and I get the message
that my saved search can be found at a certain URL. I click the URL, I get taken to a page with exactly the same message and clickable URL.
Is there the vaguest chance that the search function could be reconfigured, A) to simply list the relevant threads, and B) to actually search and find
those threads?

Perhaps you are not using it properly. Where it says 'Search for matches in', you have two options. Thread Posts only, and Thread subject lines
only.
There is also a date range, I usually always use 'From the beginning'.
Also, in the second, third and fourth lines, there is an option for either 'must be returned' as well as 'must not be returned'.
If you can not find what you are looking for, I can try to help, to verify if there really is a problem with the search function, or not.

I have this issue with the search funtion to.......for me? Its just BROKE.
I have found searching through google does it fine, and I can get anything from ATS I need that way.....
|
its not completely useless...i mean it helps a little.
|
I never use it, I prefer to use the Google toolbar and select the "Current site" option, is easier.
And yes, the few times I used the search function I did not like it.
|
I just used it and I found the two thread I was looking for.

ATS Content Tags
The tag search is getting better and better as more tags are added. Though not all threads are tagged yet, it's improving.
