i've seen some members with "fighter" on their mini profile, could someone explain what that means and how you become one??

Fighter means debater.

Fighter simply sounds more pimped out than debater.
As to how many members here are literally "fighters", I'm not sure, I've got my second degree black, not your average techie..

No Doubt! Ktpr should have "Master Fighter" or "Lord Fighter" in his! I think that when you get all three Writer, Fighter, Scholar you should be called an Embattled Druid...

I hold my status as 'fighter' with much pride, even as I have been on the losing end to ktpr and OIMD as of late. As they are both past champs, its not too hadr to take tho, they were both formidible and excellent opponents. Personlly, I think that as I am confrontational by nature, its fitting, and I also think it looks #ing cool.
