But would the message:
Your post was BS!
Work as positive criticism? I can see a member receiving one of these votes and then demanding to know who bestowed this honor on them. I see where
your coming from, but human behaviour tells us a lot of negative could come from this.

I would like to see a section where we could speak like we talk in real life; not this contrived ATS "newspeak" that sounds like the teachers lounge
at a junior college.
Of course you would have to be over 18 cause it might get a little "salty" and we wouldn't want to offend any tender sensibilities; would we.

Sure we have Podcast, but how about live online radio?
I am talking of things like ShoutCast and such.
The shows would not have to be conspiracy related, it could be the DJ's choice of music, or their current news.
I'm sure we won't have a shortage of listeners, nor volunteer DJ's to fill timeslots.

How about a Hall of Shame showing the banned members and the reasons as to why they were banned.
I hear often that members are missing and this may also provide a platform on which others know the consequences of inappropriate behaviour.

I agree with Creeping Jesus, we need a forum to see which posters were banned and as to how and why they were banished from ATS. It would cut down on
the number of flaming posts and hot-headed posters et al.

I like it! And with the people with warning flags......
Maybe we could display them in cyber stocks and pillories and taunt them with jibes and
sarcastic remarks.

Does anyone remember when the Admin made it clear why picklewalsh was banned?
Drama-Fest!
If it became protocol to make it clear why members were banned, it would be the norm on ATS. Anything that is solely to create drama is a no no in my
books. Sure it could peak our curiousity from time to time, but it would be a detriment to ATS.
Lets trust their judgement and keep this a behind closed doors issue.

This is an easy one to answer. You want to know why someone gets banned? Repeated infractions of the
T&C. Or one VERY overt one.

It was a suggestion not a question.
Also, it was something I was interested in as were others which I believe was the purpose of this thread was it not?
To find out what the users may want to see in the future.
If the site administrators cannot find this feasable then fair enough but finding an excuse to dismiss it regardless is a little weak.
no offence intended.

Not at all. chissler said it well:

This is weak? Why do we need the drama of NEEDING to know why and how a member disreguarded the rules of the site? BTW, staff members have been turfed
for this too, so don't think we are any different from you. We ALL have to live by the rules.
Open Court isn't going to happen(this was actually posed recently), that would fracture the board on popularity, the T&C wouldn't matter then, it's
who we like. Not good.

less clutter
i would like to see less clutter .
one of my poster children for clutter on ATS is the mini profile message :
" member was on ats XX minuites ago "
who cares ? knowing that a given member was last on ATS 19 minutes previosly is no help to anyone
now if it was predictive - and could inform us that a member will be on ats in 21 minuites - that would be useful - lol
off line / online is all you need to know

So you've been a member for two days and you propose we change the name of the site? A name Simon has had for almost a decade, I believe. I don't
think you need to take the term literally.
Unless you take a peak into the Really Above Top Secret Forum.

I hear often that members are missing and this may also provide a platform on which others know the consequences of inappropriate behaviour.

Reasons would open up the gates to people complaining as to why. From members so l`ve spoken to outside this site (both banned and not) we know that
more than one member has been banned for nothing more than winding up a mod without using bad language or harmful insults to a member of the then
council and when threatened with being banned by a mr bull, that person decided not to be treated as a child called there bluff stated go ahead ban me
to which that person then got banned.
People here have taken there authority beyond the necessary policing of the site and have turned it into there own personnel police state.Kinda
strange concidering the subject matter on here.Guess there personnel lives are not what they wanted to get out of life
Fortunately we all work for the same agency that uses domestic IP addresses, sometimes the same IP for people working in differant countries,so even
though they managed to ban and block we still have access.
So please mods don`t take it as were TROLLS and don`t ban me

We only have your word for that.Might be interesting if a banned member has a limited access to which a jury could be used to judge that person which
would then mean everybody has access.
You wouldn`t hang a person on evidence hidden and without any defence.
Just a thought works well in real life unless you believe in conspirices and believe it better to allow the un seen unknow mods to police and trust
the admin. Most people on here don`t trust democratic procees in the states so there hardly gonna trust Simon and the mods.
