Stem cell research is working to ease symptoms of Muscular Dystrophy in dogs. This could lead to the same thing in humans! Adult stem cells are
worth researching, as opposed to embrionic stem cells, which has not produced anything worth funding. Since embionic stem cell research can't get
money from the private sector, they are looking to the government.
This is a great example of private sector money obtaining great medical results! No need for government money!

The only setback when making a new post, is when your arguement is so convincing that you don't get any responses.
Once again if embrionic stem cell research is so promising, why does it need federal funding?
I gave an example of adult stem cell research that was not federally funded, at it was a success. Why can't embrionic research do the same?

RR, it's been my (crackpot) contention that embryonic stem cell research can't cut the mustard because too many misogynists and bigots can't
control where the healing cells are coming from. They think (fear?) they might actually get a backbone from a woman, or worse yet, a penis fix
from...?
That's why adult cell research is funded. They want maximum control over the purity of the species. By those who fear being 'contaminated' in
their treatment, who also fear they will need this treatment one day.

People whose dogs have cancer have been able to get the cancer cured with stem cell therapy for ages.
Cost: $45,000.
Nothing new here.
All it takes is ca$h.

Yeah! $45,000 that did not come from the government! It came from the private sector!
Embryonic stem cell research shows no promise at all, that makes it kind of hard to get private money. That is why they want Federal Money, because
its FREE. NO RESULTS required.

It's the benefits that accrue to the private sector.

I stand by my original statement. This was private research, with private funds. Not Federal Funds. Only failed theories, like embryonic stem cell
research, need federal funds.

One of the problem is, that private sector only goes for what benefit them, as profits.
If stem cell reasearch will help cure diseases that until now are the bread and butter of the private multibillion dollare pharmaceutical empire, you
bet that they will do anything in their power to stop stem cell and to lobby enough in the government to keep it control and away from public
funds.
Is all about money, and big profits.
