If you are having difficulty adding an avatar to your account profile the steps below will walk you through the process.

Also, be sure to read the official Avatar Guidelines thread for additional information.

I noticed that the guidelines mention No -Bikini Clad- photos and that pictures MUST show individuals clothed in shirts and shorts, but then I see quite a number of members with such "Banned" bikini babes. So.... What's the level of enforcement or point of guidelines?

Terapin,

If you see something that you think is against the T&C or guidelines feel free to report it through the complaint function.

Has this changed? Followed the instructions verbatum and have no results other than the same (no avatar) even tried the old img /img tags inside of [] before and after the url and then I get the image not found icon. Basically I am asking if the adding avatar url box is working or will resolve the uploads.abovetopsecret.com domain?

Is the image in the proper avatar format?

That is no more than 160 pixels wide and 320 pixels in height.

Yes you can plainly view it here and properties are 180x320 14218 bytes
atsmedia.cachefly.net...

I think I see my error. Image size should be 160 x 320 not 180x320. Let me resize and check again.

Ahabstar you do not use image tags for your avatar just past the url in to the Avatar space in your account settings

180 pixels is too wide and is being kicked out by the system...reduce the image to 160 pixels wide and re-upload the image.

Followed the instructions, and my avatar won't work. It is only 100x100, and 9.1kb. It shows up in my profile on the account settings screen after I hit the submit button. However on the board I am only getting an X. I tried a url from ATS uploads, and a URL from photobucket, same result. If it works in my account setting screen, why doesn't it work in my posts? Thank you.

Hello to everyone ! I am new on the site, and need help with uploading an image (avatar). I hosted photos on Photobucket, a couple of which are moving .gif's. One of them is pretty cool, so I decided to upload it here.
Trouble is, even though the image is within limits, (15kb-145x253), all it's showing me, after I paste the URL, is a white box with a red X in the corner !
I am getting sooo frustrated, what's up with that? Am I overlooking something? Thank you for the help. (here is the image)
[img] href="http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii192/sparkyny/?action=view¤t=walkin9yi_2.gif" target="_blank"> "http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii192/sparkyny/walkin9yi_2.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket">[/img]

(crap, I don't even know what I'm supposed to "copy-and-paste" fro Photobucket : the Share URL, Direct link, HTML code, or IMG code..)
I tried pasting the HTML Code, 'cause Photobucket says that's the one for Websites & blogs... but no image.
Then I tried pasting the Share URL, because on ATS MemCenter -- Account setting -- it says "Avatar URL", therefore I thought it MUST be the URL... but no luck.
Finally, while replying to this thread, suddenly the image appeared as My Signature ! (I inserted it there, too, using the IMG Code from Photobucket, for "Forums and Bulletin Boards") But it's only HALF AN IMAGE !! Pleeeaze, someone, help !

Oh, Jesus!!!! Never mind, you'll NEVER guess how I did it!
I went to see the above post, right-click on the half-image, and took a look at 'propreties'. Then I copied the http... from there and pasted it into Account settings in MemCenter!!
How odd !!!! Weird...but I like it !
Maybe someone with future problems like this, ought to try this too! Haha! (Anyway, I'm screwed the next time I wanna change the picture !!!)
