I'm not sure if this has been alreadt discussed before, but I ask you mods if it has been discussed before to keep it open. Thank you if you do that.

One problem with the US government is that the executive branch has too much power. In my own beliefs the perfect government is when the people have full power, no one man or groups of men make the decisions. There will be much more voting that right now. We would vote on everything. The voting would be done in many different ways, either at home by the internet or television. Or at local voting buildings with many booths inside them. The media is in control of the people. The media doesn't try to lie, their goal is to get people the truth. They put the people first, not their own opinions. War would be delcared by a vote of the entire nation. It would also have restrictions, restrictions keeping war being declared for immoral reasons. There would be no president and congress. Someone who is righteous would be the judge, and the judge is the one who decides who's guilty or innocent. Why this? Because I believe sometimes the jury doesn't make moral decisions. The moral judge can be removed by vote, only if his or her actions aren't moral. But the voters who are voting him or her out, will have to follow laws for that.

That is just some of my ideas for a perfect government, what's yours?

My ideas for a "perfect" government don't involve any politicians. Appoint people to do those jobs, and i mean real people, who volunteer to do this. There would be no ridiculously high salaries, they would all make the same amount and that amount would equal the average income of the nation. The idea of war is makes me , but there would be an armed forces of sorts, but only for protecting the nation, not going out and attacking other nations. Hopefully by that time there won't be a need for any armed forces, but since war is such a good business these days I don't see that happening any time soon.

The president and Vice pres. are replaced by a council that would each have their own specialized departments to run but would all vote on the major issues alongside of the entire nation, so when we screw up we have nobody to blame but ourselves. I'm sure there would be a lot more to this, but these are some of the more major issues.

I really don't like the idea of government at all, but anarchy is a B, you just have a bunch of gangs fighting for control which is much worse than one gang being appointed to run the country.

The idea of having a referendum on everything on the internet isn't a bad idea, kind of like how the polls work. Of course it would have to be designed properly to make sure everyone only votes once, people don't have their accounts hacked, everyone has access to the internet and that it only involves people registered to vote.

I beleive that the government should have the capability to sieze alot of power at a crucial moment where survival is at stake. I emphasize better judgement - for example the current implementation disgusts me. However Abe Lincoln's use of it during the civil war was a good decision. Sometimes the democratic process cannot respond fast enough to protect itself.

Apart from that, I beleive the government should be transparent and highly regulated. Same goes for corporations. The right of the individual to be should reign supreme, privacy and freedom should be prime values. Anything that causes harm against another should be the main definition of crime.. no more twisting law and money for the interests of better living over others.

I beleive constant voting would cause alot of frustration - as those who see no fruit from their consistent votes will be affected. Therefore I propose a higher degree of citizen involvement in government. I disagree with the use of a council instead of a designed leader, because all I have seen of council leaderships so far has been infighting of the highest degree. A rotating presidency would do.

Agree on the salary issue.

At this point in our human and spiritual development anyway.

I think the government should always have a hierarchy, with no one thing at the highest point. Now a days, to even run for any type of mainstream government, you need money for the advertising. Which makes those of privilege birth or corp background the usual candidate.

Originally (from my memory of government class), the hierarchy of the US government was this.. the legislative thought up the laws and got the majority of the leaders to approve of it, the executive branch approved or disapproved them, and then the judicial decided if it was constitutional (or something like that). The hierarchy is the elected officials who make the laws have to answer to the people, and the people then had to listen and obey the laws. Thus making it a circle of responsibility. It was when all three branches became corrupt, is when we started having issues.

I think the corruption is due to the elitists who are voted in due to the funds it takes to campaign, and have any shot. Before technology was in full swing, campaigning wasn't as costly and could be done by the average person (Lincoln for example).

So.. I think if we cut the tech crud out, and made it so all candidates that aspire to be in legislative were on equal footing, and not mudslinging.. we can get something similar to what we had before.

And yes, this means they don't get paid millions for sitting in a city that isn't even needed or necessary...

In some ways we should utilize the tech we got.. and in some ways we should get rid of it.

In my opinion, a perfect government is a small one dedicated to keeping the peace and making sure the ideals of the constitution (specifically the Bill of Rights) are upheld throughout America. Citizens would stop paying taxes, and the government would have to begin to disentangle itself from social matters such as welfare, education, health care, property. The governments primary concern should be the protection of the nation. Bring all troops home from the 130 countries where troops are currently stationed and spend some of that bloated military budget on protecting our borders.

A small government is a good government. Get out of social affairs, leave that to the free market in terms of education, health care, etc. Prices will be driven down, and not-for-profit organizations will exist to aid those who can't help themselves. We'll all have more money to donate because we will be able to keep our paychecks instead of give some of it to the governments.
