About the Headlines....

Topic started on 6-1-2007 @ 08:57 PM by Mechanic 32

I was wondering. How is it determined which stories are carried as headlines near the top of the page.

Is this done by automatically polling the reply count to the threads, or is it done manually? And if it is done manually, what are the criteria used in determining if a thread is "headline material"?

I ask because some of the headlines that have been up previously, are kind of questionable as newsworthy, at least in my opinion.

edit to add:

I am assuming that the staff votes on this. Or is this assumption incorrect?

This kind of question is certainly something that would be more suited to the Suggestions box...
