Rediscovering our backbones

Topic started on 26-6-2007 @ 10:44 PM by rdang

"The more the West’s confidence waned, tiptoeing around for fear of causing offence, the more audacious became those who despised the West." Correct the religion of eternal outrage thrives on such nonsense.Funny how a religion that calls for the killing or conversion of "non believers" cannot take even the slightest criticism.
"Terrorist organisations banned in other countries set up their headquarters in Britain. Radical clerics exiled by countries such as Saudi Arabia made their home in Britain. British streets hosted demonstrations for those preaching death to Westerners. Local mosques and even universities bred home-grown jihadists. Bombs exploded. Britons died."
Looks like they may be coming out of their stupor. And none too soon.

It is time we stand up and be counted. A good example was the recent knighthood for Salman Rushdie. I heard a muslin peer on Radio 4 saying who wrong this was.

Did they balance this interview with a non muslin peer saying he was very comfortable with this knighthood. Not a chance but hey this was the BBC.

It seems our Government is not man enough to prevent these people setting up in the UK. We should exercise some global power? Do you think that Israel cared that much for global opinion?

The next time some terriorist organsiation attacks the UK or its citizens, we give the country sponsoring the terrorists, 24 hours to release our citizens or hand over the suspects, or we bomb there country back to the stone age. (Waiting for the howls of protesting posts that we must be part of the world family and this is morally wrong)

Guess what. I do not care and I wonder if you asked the majority of the British public, if we should be tougher, I think the answer would be yes.

Heh, guess what? That's what's currently happening to us. The blowback from 50 years of mistreating Muslim nations has seen Islamic extremists find support for the retaliatory attacks on Western targets.

If our governments hadn't run rough shod over Muslim nations and played colonial games with their land and resources we wouldn't be targets for terrorists. They haven't just woke up one morning and decided "Hey let's go and blow up Westerners unprovoked".

I am not condoning terrorism, merely highlighting that you are displaying the same mind set as Islamic extremists. "We've been attacked so lets bomb them into the stone age". It's no different IMHO.
