Would that not play completely into Bush's need/want to attack Iran????

Are they trying to goad Bush into firing first???

It is my opinion that whom ever is seen as firing the "opening shot" in what I see as the inevitable fight between US+/Iran+ would lose that battle of the world opinion-Yes, I know some would blame the US+ no matter what, but that aside.

BTW, I acknowledge that there is currently no recognized Kurdistan state/country

With Turkey desperately seeking entrance to the EU (lets hope THAT never happens) I doubt they would do anything so stupid.

They are on the edge of electing a Radical Muslim leader and if that happens they can kiss goodbye to the EU for many many years.

agree, but we have all seen that countries/leaders don't always do what "we" consider smart.

The potential of them hurting/killing Allied men is much higher than we think.

Well when the US does leave Iraq unless the political wheeling and dealing is successful there could well be another 1948 type conflict with the likes Turkey invading the newly declared state of Kurdistan. Make no mistakes the Kurds would fight tooth and nail to preserve there independence they are the only winners out of the whole Iraq mess.

Turkey and Iran attacking the Kurds... Afterwards, I guess they'll construct a gas pipeline. Turkey got no chance to become a member of EU, in my opinion. Keep in mind that they are (still) a member of NATO.

Turkey is an member of NATO but it could end be in name only when it comes to having an working relationship with the US and the UK. Given that the US and the UK played a large hand in destabilizing there backyard and that the Turks are against an Kurdish state it is going to be a long time before Turkey relationship with the US and the UK is repaired.

The Kurds are smart and have been biding there time and preparing for an possible fight I found this thread .

Yeah, Turkey is currently in NATO because it was in their best interest to do so. Perhaps, with the Kurds now free from Saddams violence, Turkey feels more threatened by Iraq then helped by the west. With Iran supporting that fear and offering the defeat of the west Turkey may see a brighter future by hitching it's wagon to the new Caliphate.

When Bin Laden said that America was weak and that we would surrender he was only half right. The Democrat half. And with the global news cycle highlighting the Democrats fight for surrender on Capital Hill what else would Turkey think except that Bin Laden was 100% correct?

The libs in this country and around the world want the USA to take their proverbial ball and go home. They think this will change the worlds all important perception of us. It will. But just like every other immature, emotional liberal thought process, this policy will end the world as we know it.

We'll have to wait and see...
