fighting for my freedom....thats a laugh.
i think at best you can question that maybe things are better for some in that region. i also think at best you can look around our own country and
see things are gong downhill.
i'd like to see the armed forces focus on domestic enemies for now....this is, the domestic enemies are their superiors, all the way up the ladder.

If you can read this in English, thank a soldier.
"John Stuart Mill:
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth
war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a
miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

That has never been a question. A soldier is and always has been..A Tool. My concern is not that my government cares for me, but that I care for my
country. I volunteered to become a number, a tool to be used, so no, I am not concerned that I as an individual am not a concern of my government.

Without touching on the current war. I'd like to find out what exactly the people who think we don't need these men and women protecting us think
would happen to our freedoms if everyone serving in our Armed Forces just simply quit?
Do you think you'd be sitting on your computer next week spouting off the way you are now? I don't believe you would.
We all have these freedoms because of our Armed Forces. Because they VOLUNTEERED to help assure our freedoms will continue. Regardless of what war is
being fought at the moment.
Remember that not every enlisted man or woman is over there fighting this war. Everyone of them should be respected though, because they will be there
when there is a war that you feel SHOULD be fought.

have to bring those troops home and do the following.
1. put them to work in factories. to work. actual work, maybe open up 30 FORD manufacturing plants and put the soldiers to work. make good use of
them.
2. Dissolve the military. Stop all Iraq involvement.
3. Arm the people. If there ever is a war, then we would all arm ourselves and go fight.
Done.
Car companies are closing factories and you want them to open more? That makes sense. We cant sell what we've made but lets build a crap load load
more.

Wow, so you would like to see the military become actively involved in the politics of the country? Be careful what you wish for when it comes to
things like that, you might end up regretting it. The track records of militarys taking over governments have been less than stellar in regards to
personal freedom and rights.

I don't know if this will work
www.youtube.com...
I think that you disresepecting people are all heartless and arrogant.
You aren't the ones over in Iraq or even back in the day in WWI or WWII or any other freaking war dying!
Now.. please before i get alot of drama, im just stating my oppinion here and don't mean any harm.
I know they signed up for it, but some people are good enough human beings and have a little bigger heart and don't do it for the money or so that
they can go over there and blow up children.
Now, granate some did sign up for the money, but you know even at that, at least they have the balls to go over and help the soldiers who are trying
to do some good for the country.
Not eveyone in country is stupid and thought "hey, you know what? I think I'll go into the army, you know make several thousand dollars, maybe kill
some children, maybe rape some women. I think i would love to go out and risk being shot by an enemy or blown up, you know just to make some money and
carry a gun" Seriously how arrogant can you people be?

If I were to post the first things that came to mind when I saw some of the responses, they would violate a number of the terms of agreement on this
site. Let's just say that contempt would be a good word for my feelings.

I would just like to add this. While you do not feel the need to give someone respect that you disagree with, does that give you the right to
disrespect them? What evidence do you have of them being rapist and baby killers? Can you give an example of how soldiers are recruited with force?
Can you give some background on why you beleive they are the lowest level of human beings.
All of those statements are speculations and I find them slanderous to soldiers. Again, does that mean I think you should respect them? No, I think
you have the right to make that decision on your own; however I do beleive you should not disrespect them.

then we all are screwed and what we do or you do really will not matter then.
I don't vote for any politician to lead me. I know what I want. I send him/her to Congress to carry out my wishes and his/her campaign promises that
he/she made. If they fail to carry out their promises, then I work to get them tossed out of office.
I don't vote for military. Nobody should have that right. I do respect them, however, for doing a very necessary job that needs to be done. When
politicians start running the battlefield, then things get screwed up right quick.
As far as piacenza and those who agree with his outlook, the common thread that echoes throughout their posts is youth and naivete, imo.

They don't have to be pulling a trigger to be protecting your freedoms. Just the presence of certain military bases helps insure peace.

Sorry friend, but that's the most basic kind of propaganda. Of course it made me feel sad and proud, but I don't lose sight of the fact of the
reasoning behind it. We can't get lost in our emotions. We have to keep our heads. That's what we really owe our soldiers.
Peace

This is a great thread! It finally shows an HONEST liberal. I didn't think they existed until I saw this thread. Typically, liberals/leftists hide
behind the soldiers and use them for political gain but keep their hatred of the military quiet. At least this leftist is honest, which is rare.
Behold...the true face of the left. America hating, military hating, family value hating, scum....all of them.
