The situation breaks my heart. Did the protests against the Iraq war stop it from happening? Not at all.

I am in a dilemma. The people are in a dilemma.

I wonder what Ron Paul has in mind.

I'll give you a hint.

Protesting (whether peaceful or armed) won't solve anything. Having a talk with government is actually better.

Not a march.
Not militant.

A rally, with music and speeches
Marches are too hard to get permits for.

One of two dates.
July 4th, or Memorial day. (per Ron Paul).
Plenty of time to plan your trip.

I'm going anyway, my family is out there. 2 birds, one stone.

I see what you mean. How many times and for how long have we pleaded to our government to follow through with the people's good requests?

It is a big task, but it seems as though, through some means, we must start over.

The thing I find hilarious about this WHOLE election this year is the fact that Ron Paul is the only one that is freaking out about this new pre-emptive war policy we've created. When he did mention it in a debate all the other guys looked at him like he was crazy.

How could things have changed so fast.

I mean... lets sum this up.

Everyone with a sound mind knows Iraq was BS!

But the media and all the candidates democrat and republican just totally ignore that.

The truth is they are all bought and paid for by someone, all of them!

They're all on the same agenda... and thats to keep this war going.

I think it's a great idea. The more people the better. There are plenty of folks that haven't heard Ron Paul's message. The more attention the better. I think most of the new "revolutionaries" do their work on the internet, which is why there is such a limited reaction out there in the real world. The protests against the Vietnam War did have an effect because they were out there in front of the White House driving Nixon crazy. It's time to take it to the streets. Maybe it will sway some voters and wake up sleeping zombies. Rubber bullets be damned, our country is going to hell, at least I'll be able to say I tried. Count me in.

As if the idea of getting more than ten Ron Paul supporters in a group weren't enough to conjure up memories of where hte term "going postal" comes from...

Obama voted against the war as well and has maintained that position, unlike Hillary on both counts. I'm all for this event, and I applaud Ron Paul for driving it, but there is another candidate this year who is working for us as well.

Rather than limiting this to "Ron Paul only" supporters, how about actively welcoming all Americans who care about getting back their country? (BTW, I'm not implying that you'd want otherwise)

Where is DBates?

A march on Washington will get the media attention Ron Paul has deserved ALL ALONG.

And if you need a cause or title, how 'bout "The March for Constitutional Government '08?"

A vote for Dr. Ron Paul is a vote for the foundations of this nation. Just as his voting record in Congress PROVES, when he votes against something, earning him the "nickname" Dr. No, it is actually a vote FOR THE CONSTITUTION.

He's the only one running who really understands the economy, and I agree with him strongly that we should let the rest of the globe deal with things without our intervention. He will bring the troops home. And he will restore the Constitution.

The Constitution (actually the Preamble) is that document that says "We the People..." That means ALL citizens.

By allowing the dismantling of the Constitution (however slight at this point), we throw away the sacrifices of anyone who fought under the guise of defending freedom. That means all those who fought for and died for our independence.

See you at the March!

Lifestudent and Cole... you both make very good points. I think Ron Paul is correct when he says we are at a crossroads. Now is the time to stand up.

Cole makes a very good point. A peacefully armed march would certainly make a statement that takes us back as a nation to our birth. The will of the People vs that of an out of control Government.

Lifestudent also makes a point. Peaceful protest that is met with force exposes the lie and shows the government for what it truly is.

So which road will you choose?

I think lifestudent has it right. Not enough people have been awakened yet. Now is the time for a peaceful march on Washington, if we are met with force then so be it. It worked in 60's. Don't run, don't fight back, just simply sit down. If you are hit with sticks, sprayed, shot, whatever. So be it. Expose the lie. That will wake people up, that is where the first steps must be taken. God forbid, but if a time ever comes when the people must take up arms, it is the footage and stories of peaceful protest that was met with force that the history books will show lead to an armed conflict. It is the difference between a Defender and a Patriot vs being a "Terrorist" and an Aggressor. That is what a Patriot will do. He will risk being put on a "No Fly" list, a "Terrorist" watch list, having rubber bullets fired upon him, taking a ride on a taser gun, being gassed, being sprayed, being hosed down, being beaten with sticks, being arrested and charged. A Patriot will take it all BEFORE he takes up arms. This will wake up others, who then will continue the fight alongside of us. Expose the lies and lets make some history.

See some of you Washington!

Amen brotha! I tend to feel the same way about a lot of things like this. People are always talking about making changes, but are never willing to stand up and do anything about making that change happen. Well, things like this never change unless some brave soul actually STANDS Up. It's time for some to do so. Would I consider myself worthy of that calling? I'm not sure. I'd like to, but when/if the time came, I'm not sure that I could make that step.

I figured it out! All these people that can't handle being responsible for their own lives and want government to do it for them...

It's hypengyophobia! hI-pen-jE-O-fO-bE-a. Fear of responsibility. It's the only rational explanation as their fear is entirely irrational. Now I'm sure there's a conspiracy in there somewhere...

I'll decide if I go to DC when something is set in stone. Probably leave my guns at home. I hear they're kinda anal about liberty there.
