Why Vote for Clinton or McCain?

Topic started on 24-2-2008 @ 06:57 PM by bigbert81

So I thought I'd start this thread because of the insane amount of anti-Obama, and these 'why vote for Obama' posts I've been coming across, and so I just thought I'd even the playing field so-to-speak.

So, for all you anti-Obama people, WHY would you vote for Clinton or McCain?

What makes you believe in them? What policies do they have you like? Why are they better suited to play the role?

Thanks for all the links, but I'm looking to see some more specific pro-Hillary or pro-McCain posts instead of the usual anti-Obama ones.

Sure, there's a couple of tidbits here and there, but not enough I think to justify all this anti-Obama smear going on around here.

And, honestly I'm surprised no one has taken me up on my offer to stand up for Hillary or McCain. This is the same thing as the caucus I went to. People stood up for Obama, people even stood up for being uncommitted, but NOBODY stood up for Hillary.

Funny. I guess it's easier to smear a good candidate than it is to support a crappy one.

Makes sense I guess.

One thing that you should note is that the views expressed on the boards aren't always reflective of the wider community who aren't members. For example beyond the internet bubble Paul doesn't enjoy any where near as much support. So it stands to reason that a lot of the support that Obama, McCain and Hillary get isnt reflected on what is posted .

The only other insight I can offer is that some people such as myself think that hope comes from sound policy's that will set the US on the right track rather then just speeches . Beyond that since I'm not an American this isnt really an issue for me.

Actually. I would not vote for any of the candidates. I am a Republican and there is not a conservative representative on the presidential ticket. They are all illegal lovin' liberals and will launch the destruction of the US leading to a new world order.

It is pretty obvious that the forces against the US have won out in the long run, weaking us from the core. Now the mortage crisis has forced our banks partner with Arabs and Chinese. We will soon have no say because the US will have no clear majority and we will be consumed by constant in-fighting. This has already begun. Congress is inept in passing anything other than raises for themselves. There is not one candidate that has real solutions to real problems.

I think the point is to vote for the lesser of the evils. At least make your vote count for something, and getting the best of the worst to run the country is at least a small step forward.

The thing is, once there IS a candidate running that's like a dream come true, either he/she will have no chance of winning, or people will accuse him/her of being the antichrist and spread propaganda.

Uhm.... I think GB already launched it.

See it's statements like this one from eagledriver that makes me wonder if folks like him are even awake. Given the economic and sovereign destruction GB has caused over the last several years, how could anyone fear liberals...

I just don't get it. I mean seriously, GB has done more single handed to hurt this country than any other president in history. And you want to spread FUD about liberals?

Even if you vote for the lesser of two evils, you vote for evil.

Which is why I'm voting Obama. If he doesn't get the nomination, I'm simply not voting.
