Forgive me if this sounds a little abrupt, but I'm a bit under the weather.

People worked really hard on this, candidates and organisers - I was late on the scene, but I could see the huge amounts of work done by those involved in the original process, especially chissler who drove this forwards with all the resources at his disposal, and who devoted huge amounts of time and energy.

Just for the love of it, and to try and get something that a minority of members wanted - although I also appreciate the time and effort put in by candidates and those supporting them.

I personally spent the best part of 3 days worth of "ATS time" reading all the threads in the forum.

To suggest that this was done as a way of ending the campaign is a little insulting to be honest.
To suggest that there was nothing going on behind the scenes is also a little insulting.

We're all disappointed, but surely there's no need to throw out unfounded accusations or make a drama out of this.

We tried, all of us, but it just wasn't to be.

I appreciate candor and honesty, but for the more cynical amongst us, try to remember that we're just as disappointed as anyone.

Hey don't worry about it guys. There is no need for finger pointing and accusations here.

Chissler and Budski; among others, worked extremely hard to get this moving for us. The fact is that there was just not enough member interest to keep going. Hell, if they would have I would have won by default I think because everyone else dropped out (even counting the 4 or 5 people who would have voted in the end).

So I see no point in hanging around arguing about this and trying to place blame. It didn't work out, and that has disappointed everyone.

So instead of trying to attack each other about it, why don't we put our heads together and try to come up with a comprehensive plan of action that could allow us to make another run at this in the future. A plan that could get the majority of ATS exited and energetic.

The best bet at this stage would be to support the Above Politics Show . The hosts Martian and Justin do have a good sense humour and they need it when someone like me is a regular listener . Support the show by listening , asking questions and posting your thoughts about topics raised on the show . You can do this on the show threads.

This way AP gets a decent airing via the odd thread being mentioned on the show. Here is the latest show thread .
