New FSME Introduction

Topic started on 6-3-2008 @ 04:35 PM by budski

Hi everyone, because we couldn't continue with the AP elections, I've come over to this forum as the new FSME.

Some of you may know me, some may not, but I hope to change that over the coming months, as the elections start to heat up.

I'm not an expert on US politics by any means, but that just means I have the chance to learn from the guys who are more familiar with it than me

What will I bring to the forum?

Well, I'll be impartial - I'm not going to be voting in the upcoming election as I live in the UK and I think that gives me a different perspective, which is always usefull IMO.

I think this is a great opportunity for all of us to bring this forum to the forefront of AP and ATS and let people know what they are missing out on, and get as many interested people as possible involved.

I look forwards to seeing everyone in the threads

Budski,

An excellent choice as our beloved Admin is known for!

I am here to help, just let me know what I can do...

Well semper, you could point me in the direction of a non-partisan website, so that I can start to educate myself about the intricacies of the US electoral system.

I have a rough idea, but if I'm going to be of any help, or join in myself I need a very clear idea of how it works

After that I'll start looking at the candidates themselves, if I can find some non-partisan info

Thanks for the welcome - I'm looking forward to this.

Here is a good place to start...

Lots, TONS of information and all sides are presented...

Politics1

Then I would go to each parties website...

GOP

Dems

Look around there to get an idea of where each party stands...

Thank you very much semper,
this is a great introduction for anyone looking for info about the election process.

I have some questions, but I'll address those in a different forum.
