Canada joins the U.S, 'The Trojan Horse'

Topic started on 26-3-2008 @ 06:16 AM by Rumrunner

I wasn't sure where to put this or if someone has already posted it, if they have just delete this.

CBC
Tom McLaughlin (Paul Gross), former Canadian Prime Minister, watches from the sidelines as a majority of Canadians vote for union with the United States of America. The Canadian flag comes down and the country is redrawn into six states. McLaughlin appears to take this development in stride, but we soon learn that he has concocted a plan to get revenge on those he sees as having stolen his country out from under him. Backed by the Big Three moneymen of Europe, McLaughlin runs as an independent for President with his ex-wife, Texas Governor Mary Miller (Martha Burns) as his running mate. Veteran British journalist Helen Madigan (Greta Scacchi) uncovers a plot to fix the votes in the U.S. and believing McLaughlin is an honest broker, she looks to him to expose the corruption in the current administration but instead reveals that he is the root. Also starring: Tom Skerritt, Saul Rubinek,

I can't wait to see this and the spin that they put on it.

Part one is on March 30, 2008 and part two April 6, 2008.

Looking forward to it. H2O was an interesting take on Canadian politics and our relations with the States. The underlying conceit of "Trojan Horse" is amusing. Tonight and next Sunday. Globe's take was decent on it and Gross has crafted a pretty decent story.
