ATS watch is owned by the ATS Network and this is all for the reason of gaining publicity, because in the end (and the end will come soon) ATS watch will hold its hand up and proclaim that they lied about ATS and ATS are the hero of the day.

The photos of bill will be examined and turn out to be a photoshop job, Mark will turn out to be the head reptilian and Simon was just a simple man all this time, that sat in an office and played Simon says with himself for 8 hours a day.

If I start a new thread about this theory, would ya's all flag and star the bastard? I don't have many flags and stars

Thanks for keeping ATS open, and defending our right to free speech. Only the sore losers want to shut things down. They can't win a debate to support their foolish positions, so they bring a lawsuit. A true reflection of the biggest problems we face in the world.

I too applaud your stand.

I do understand what it feels like to have your detractors and your attackers. I understand what it feels like to have people attempt to erode the foundations almost as quickly as you can build them...those who will wash their waves against it in order to try and wear it down.

I also understand that often those waves come from a place of personal perspective - they often believe their stand is also correct.

So at the end of the day it comes down to truth.

Legal recourse is never about truth. I'll say that again - it is never about truth. Legal recourse is about convincing others what you see the truth is.

As such - I applaud your stance of not going down the legal route at this time - instead, soldier on. Soldier on with your own truth. Let the waves and the winds whip and wear...

...if you stand true, if you stand with a steadfast solidity of purity in your intentions and your stance, then you will remain when the storms blow over.


The hottest fires temper the strongest steel - and the wildest winds merely serve to blow the chaff from the wheat.

Thanks to the Internet, more lies are available to more people more quickly.

There is no shortage of false information drifting around the aether. Indeed, the vast majority of what the Internet contains is probably untrue to some degree, and the best tool for discerning fact from fiction is a strong sense of skepticism.

All of the lies, innuendos and distortions we are constantly bombarded with have one common purpose: to control us. They seek to elicit a response, change our perceptions and ultimately affect our behavior in some way.

To respond to them is to legitimize them, to react in kind is to empower them, and to recognize this is to rob them of their power.

Anyone who wants to is quite welcome to come to ATS and see for themselves what's going on firsthand. You don't need an account, don't need to tell anyone you're here and don't need to invest anything at all other than the willingness to execute a few mouse clicks, read what is posted and surf the site as a guest.

Anyone who is willing to take someone else's word in place of the real thing probably wouldn't benefit from what ATS has to offer in the first place.

For all the things that have been said about ATS pro or con, nothing speaks more eloquently or accurately about our community than the simple fact of what we post here every day.

Some people are comfortable with it, some are not. That's fine.

The Internet is a very big place, and there's room for everybody.

I am getting a lot of these tonight, it takes me at least one refresh to get through a post, or to switch between boards.

I get this using IE and FireFox, so I don't know if it's on my end, all other websites seem to work.

Is anyone else getting this?

Yes I'm getting it as well. I'm only using Firefox but I don't think its a Firefox problem because other websites work just fine.

Although, as I'm typing this I'm clicking around the board and its working. But I'll leave this post anyway to show that its not just a problem on your end.

I'm getting this as well.

I'm using bellsouth DSL with Firefox, and it appears to be an issue with the ATS Server. It's responding as if it might be under a SynFlood attack of some sort...

I'm not saying it is, just speaking from previous experience with a ddos issue.

The issue seems to be with most platforms.

I'm having troubles too (as well as other staff).

I saw the posts about all the hoaxing and bait threads, and I have to agree. I've sent a few of my friends here and they were less than impressed by what they found in the way of "up front" threads.

Now, I have no clue how the site is coded or what's involved, but I can see that the flag system is being abused by groups of trolls and troglodytes who support each other's hoax and bait threads.

There probably is some way to enable members to mark, tag, flag, or otherwise indicate threads that should sink into obscurity or at least not be out front. But I suggest we present it to the mods and admin as a problem and allow them to propose a solution, perhaps with suggestions from members. Specifically asking for 'negative flags' or the ability to subtract flags may not be the best or most practical approach. After all, I don't know what's involved in setting that up, do you?

So anyway, hey admins .. here's a second for the motion that members have some way of indicating when they think a thread is BS, an obvious hoax, trolling, baiting, etc, (other than posting a reply in the thread) and that enough such "black marks" given to it by members would drop it off the front page lists. Those who are really interested in following that thread can still subscribe to it and have it show up in their 'My ATS' page.

I've not been on ATS for about 6 months, and I clicked on the "Hot Topics" links on the homepage; I was very disappointed to find that most of the threads were either HOAXES or very lame conjecture.

I came across one thread where another member (alienj) had similar ideas to myself and tried to address this problem:





I flagged alienj's thread & posted a reply, saying that I agreed with what he said... only to find out that the thread had been closed

If this is the new ATS attitude, then I think that people will go elsewhere

I agree, but this could have a negative effect on GOOD threads: there are obviously people (trolls?) that visit this website that don't want interesting threads to be seen by anyone - they want surfers to read BS Hoaxes etc. They could just as easily give negative flags to the "good stuff".

To be honest, it just needs inteligent "common sense" moderating. Most of the Truth Seekers on ATS will see a thread & know, or suspect straight away that it is an obvious HOAX - so why can't the MODS take action quickly?


Maybe members should be given "Troll points"?

Every member is given a certain amount of points which enable them to respond to threads in a positive, neutral or negative way...

Or maybe have sub-mods, (respected & active ATS members), who can put a "Don't Feed the Trolls" warning in a thread - before reporting it to a MOD?

If certain members are constantly responding to well known hoaxes, they are contributing to it's popularity and therefore (IMO) bringing the integrity of ATS down to a joke (every day, new people come across this forum for the 1st time, and if the 1st thing they read about is some boring hoax etc, I don't think they will come back again)

Speaking as a member here...

Those hoaxes get exposed for what they are very quickly. We've experts in a lot of different fields herein, and they waste little time. The infamous SERPO hoax comes to mind...several members were on it right away, the majority soon to follow, though the thread itself lingered on for months...

Personally, I think posting your evidence, in support of the story, or in direct contradiction, is enough. Merely my opinion humbly given.

Yes, I remember the Isaac Caret clones were dealt with in a similar fashion - that's what I like about ATS.

Some of the hoaxes can be very entertaining, amusing and even challenging, but I don't think that they should be on the front page of ATS and listed as the "HOTTEST TOPICS"
