casalemedia.com in our ATS browser?

cant seem to fin a solution why it is auto doing this on here?

any help would be great on how to remove this nag/bug?

I have noticed in my lower left corner when i go from page to page on ATS i get lot's and im not joking maybe 10 wait to connect's to various web site.

Infact i have noticed ATS has slowed down vastly when loading from page to page..

At the bottom of the loaded page it reads:

So, it's hitting the database 12 times and that will slow ya down besides the third party websites and databases peeking and poking at the cookies they have your pc holding up.

I wouldn't call .292 seconds slow...

Just try a add blocker for your browser.I use adblock plus for alot of things but the banners on ats dont bug me.

Oh ok, so it's a normal thing then. Thanks for the heads up. I only noticed it recently, and that's why I thought it might be either some wierd malware virus that I had, or something attaching itself from this site via some nastyness. Oh well you are running a site, and I guess if I could generate revenue I too would do so . Just the way it acts is a little annoying tho.

but it is hijacking the browser and directing it to their website. i get this pop up asking me to install their software. i click cancel (i don't want to install their software), and it hijacks my browser. i have to type in the ATS URL to get back here.

Certainly you can fix that...who ever it is.

I didnt see that in the terms and condictions...but i also stated i didnt adblock either.But now i know so i retract my statement.:upont adblock the banner or advertisements!

Well it's not .291 seconds now is it?

But all things considered your doing a fine job - we'll over look this one this one time

Edit: I think CCleaner fixes problems like this quickish - it's kind of a must have free app I find

Just a note. I have been reading there is of late, a internet frenzy called injection from hijackers. They hack a site, place a pixel x pixel iframe on the page and BOING!. The unprotected unsuspecting viewer gets a spyware/malware code injection.

Now I know you guys are smart, but come on, your a big target for hackers.

I don't think ATS would do such a thing, but since others would, all possiblities are on the table.

dont advertise that on ats
i just use IE for ATS without the macromedia updates

Well i cant go back and edit my statement,but farther down i did state i didnt know.

Don't EVER click anywhere except the X in the upper right hand corner (windows). Just close the window out. Just because it says Cancel doesn't mean that's what the button is going to do.

For anyone here having issues with these kinds of things, download the FREE Ad-Aware 2008. Download, install, run update (it takes a minute or two), and then scan your system. Once it's done, check everything it found and click "Remove". This will eliminate most, if not all, of the malware. What is happenning, I believe, is that some of the malware sees that you're browser is trying to connect to a certain ad site, and hijacks it and redirects it to download viruses and such. I'm not exactly sure about that, but it seems to be the case from studying the behavior.

I haven't had anything malicious from shredding through ATS threads... except the occasional odd popup while logged in... when I do a scan and clean out my system, those stop.

BTW, if you have never used a spyware/malware remover before, you will be impressed with how fast the internet gets after cleaning! I would recommend trying out a couple cleaners for this if you have a large number of infections. BTW, first time scan it is not uncommon to have 500+ infections. I usually clean about 150-250 off my computer after only one night of lonely porn surfing. Through regular browsing I get about 100-150.

for my home computer, that is fine. i use spybot, avg, and ad aware (along with my mcafee).

but on my laptop, it is a company computer. don't want to install things that aren't approved. we are approved for spybot, which isn't bad. and we have the corporate version of mcafee (i got a new mdat about a week ago).

i don't run popup blockers on my laptop. it interferes with some of my job tools.

You can set up pop-up blockers with exceptions. My experience, though, is that the boxes you get somehow get around popup blockers.

Can you run Firefox on your biz computer? If so, then you can set the popup blocker to make exceptions for certain sites you use, and you can do it on the fly. I don't use Internet Exploder, so I can't say whether their blockers work or not, but they have seemed to be trying to model it after Firefox.

I would ask your employer about the situation, honestly. They should have an IT guy that can address the situation for you. I can say, with certainty, that it's not ATS/BTS affiliates doing it, though. I don't run antivirus, and just play smart when I surf, and only get about 1 virus a year at most. I know lots of people that use antivirus software, and they are constantly infected... and they don't cruise anywhere NEAR the amount of 'shady' sites that I do.

On a side note, "Gamer" sites also are bad about getting hijacks.

except when i'm not being smart. people should be careful what they install.. some porgrams advertising themselves as pc doctors and are not..
