I talked to him earlier this week via email, and have seen some of his posts today. He will likely tell you the story (not much of one really), but it sounds like computer/ISP problems... He had no clue as to the recent upheavals here from his last email.

How do you know he got a warn? How do you tell that?

It shows a little red "warn" box under where it says "Member is online/offline".
